I have moved !
I know, I know... but this will be my last one. Please follow me to my new blog home here. I am tired of having multiple blogs and will be combining everything into one. This site will no longer be updated.
ya know...
If I blogged even half as often as I "think" about blogging, I'd have thousands of posts! I think about it a lot, but never seem to sit down and actually DO it!
Well, before I forget... I've been tagged by three people... Elizabeth, Nikki, and Jayedee ... so I suppose I should do it, eh?
1) Link to the "tagger" & post the rules. 2) Share 7 facts about yourself- random / weird facts. 3) Tag 7 people & link to them. 4) Leave comments on their blogs, so they know they've been tagged.
Since I was tagged three times and I'm such a lousy blogger... I'm going to change my number from 7 to 21 facts needed. Go me, LOL.
21 Random/Weird Facts About Me:
1. I am addicted to music. I listen to just about everything (as long as it's clean!) I do not, however, like opera, latin, heavy (language filled) rap, or heavy heavy metal (minus a band or two, LOL).
2. My favorite foods are mostly foods that I was NEVER fed during my childhood years. I love Thai, Mongolian, and Mexican the most. I love most vegetables... the only ones I do not like are lettuce, peas, and eggplant. Currently, my favorite fruit is pink grapefruit.
3. I am a bookaholic. I love to read. I own more books than should probably be allowed. I read constantly and know all the librarians' in my area very well. They know who I am too. Christian, nonChristian, young adult... I just love it. Few things are better than curling up and getting lost in another world, another era, another life.
4. I put lotion on my feet. Yep. I like to put lotion on my feet before putting socks on... both in the morning and in the evening time. I try to keep lotion in most rooms (except the kids' rooms of course).
5. Technically I have a kind of agoraphobia. I don't mind being out and about in society. What scares me is being in the great outdoors without city life nearby. I get panicky when we drive too far from a town. Not sure what kind of fear this would actually be called.
6. I am very conservative. I am against abortion, against homosexuality, for the death penalty, and pro gun. I speak my mind when it comes to politics. I am very opinionated in this area! And NO! I will not change no matter how much you argue with me!
7. I love fantasy. Not just in books, but in movies and in items that I buy. Or in my drawings, essays, poetry, etc that I enjoy doing. I love dragons and faeries the most.
8. When I get to laughing hard, I sometimes snort. It's embarrassing but I've learned to deal with it!
9. One of my goals in life is to have my own store. When I was younger, I dreamt of it being a bookstore, complete with storytime for the kids, coffee, tea, and chocolates... small and cozy with big couches and throw pillows for people to relax on. Nowadays I dream of the perfect craft store... but still I lack MONEY.
10. When I craft, I must have music on. If I turn television/movie on, I will not craft ... even if it is smth I have watched dozens of times. I just get glued to it.
11. My favorite colors are green, pink, and brown. I love neutral tones. The two colors I dislike the most are blue and red.
12. I am very unlike the basic female. Well, kind of a funny way of saying that I guess. But I do not like cats; I like dogs. I keep my feelings to myself; John has to pry them out of me. I do not like nail polish, lots of jewelry, perfume, or flowers (not that much anyways). I drive more like a guy than a girl. I hate high heels and too much makeup.
13. I am a struggling child of the Most High. I fail more often during the day than I succeed. Many people judge me because I claim to be a Christian and yet fail doing so. Some have even called me a hypocrite. BUT I know that I love the Lord Almighty and that He loves me. I am a sinner saved by grace and not by my works.
14. I have learned a lot recently about friendships, trust, and love. We'll just leave that as is for now.
15. Personally, I would LOVE to start / lead a faithbooking class at my church. I just happen to be too shy to get it started. And then there is the fear that clenches me ... that I am not in a position spiritually to be a leader in a church position.
16. I have been to 37 states... the only ones I have not been to are Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, North Dakota, Maine, Maryland, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Delaware.
17. I get easily sidetracked online. I have to be very careful or I could spend hours on here each day. As it is, I still need to limit my time!
18. I am a list maker. I write lists for EVERYTHING. My to-do lists, Christmas lists, grocery lists, websites to look at, and so much more. I have notepads everywhere - literally. I love marking items off of a list. It makes it look like I've accomplished stuff, even on days when I feel I haven't.
19. I absolutely LOVE yankee candles! A few of my faves are Harvest, Hot Buttered Rum, Farmhouse Apple, Spiced Pumpkin, Frosted Pumpkin, Pomegranate Cider, Cherry Lemonade, and Juicy Orange. (there are MANY others faves too!)
20. Personally, I am on waaay too many email groups. I tend to overdo it and then I'll break off of several only to join others shortly after. My main genres? Scrapping/Stamping, Christianity, Homemaking, and Homeschooling.
21. My favorite time of year is Autumn. The colors, smells, cooler weather... and holidays. I like (not love) halloween despite the general view many Christians have towards this holiday. It is based on a pagan holiday... but then so is Easter and Christmas. So go figure! My bday is also during Autumn (November 17th, don't forget it!) ... and Thanksgiving. Really that is my fave time. Why? Because as a Christian, I really am so very thankful. I live in a great country (with faults, but who doesn't have 'em?)... I have a wonderful family... a great church, numerous friends, a good job... and I have freedom through the Lord Jesus Christ!
Well, if you read all of that, give yourself a pat on the back. Now... please continue. I'm just getting started!
Oh wait... I'm suppose to tag seven people. Hmmm... okay, I'm tagging:
Wow... don't think I've ever tagged those people before. Hope they each play and that I'll get to learn a bit more about them! (just remember Ladies... you only need to do seven facts!)
I've been a major slacker lately. Here are some updates.
Work was going good for the most part. I love my patients and love working with Meaghan. We get along great. We lost one of our ladies though the other day and that makes me sad. Working as a caregiver is not an easy thing! After I left, I just sat in my car and cried. Geesh... some strong woman I am, huh?
My brother came in to visit for a week. I enjoyed having him here. Too bad we couldn't really go out and do stuff. We are strapped for cash right now. . . and of course, I managed to hurt myself (more on that in a moment). Here are a few pics from when he was in...
This is my bubby... :)
One of Ben ...
So we hung out around the house mostly and watched more movies than I care to admit! LOL.
Last Monday night (Oct 15) I broke my pinkie toe... stubbed it actually on our coffee table! It hurt but I didn't think I had broken it... John looks at it and said it was. So Tuesday morning I went to the doctor. Walked out (more like hobbled!) with xrays to take to my orthopedic doctor and a rigid shoe thing to wear. Here is a purty picture of my fat swollen toe...
Yeah, I'm so sure you wanted to view that huh? Actually, it looked worse ... and that isn't the best pic. But you get the idea!
So I spent the rest of my time with my brother hobbling around. Took the week off of work (doctor's office said 4 - 6 weeks but I didn't agree!). However, this past Tuesday (23rd), I did return back to work only to realize something else had to be up. The pain was immense... whenever I put weight on my foot, I got shooting pains throughout my foot and especially in my ankle. Oh... and don't want to forget this... there was a lady at Costco a few days after I broke my toe that ran over my foot with a FULL cart! While she did apologize, I did momentarily debate ramming her head into the freezer doors! LOL.
Anyways, I didn't last a full shift at work. Came home, soaked my foot... called the ortho doctor and got another appointment. This time they did more xrays. Now the first set of xrays did not show my whole foot so he doesn't know when this happened, but on top of having a broken toe, I also have a Jones Fracture (fracture of the 5th metatarsal) AND a sprained ankle! So I left St Luke's medical center wearing a boot... you know those things. The awkward black straitjacket for legs/feet? There are like a dozen different things needed to strap my leg into this dang thing! The funny thing is, I went with just Ben... and I was driving the excursion. I stood there staring at the car trying to figure out how to drive myself home. I did manage... and it's not that hard to drive left footed. At any rate, I am out of work until December. BLAH. I'm supposed to keep my foot up as much as possible. Yeah right.
Okidoki ... I am going to leave you with this. A song that just touches me. It's beautiful. A great reminder of Jesus' love for each of us. It's been circulating online for a while but as you already know... I'm a procrastinator!
The song is called "Everything" and is by the totally rocking band LIFEHOUSE. Tootles!
So I'm just going to leave that as is. No need for further explanation. Only I have to admit it made me giggle. What a silly quiz... how did it know me so well???

I've not been doing much crafting the past couple of weeks. Have other stuff that I'm doing these days and it's occupying my time. I'll be back on here soon with some craft updates... just wait for it :0)
A place to blog about two of my favorite subjects ... and more!
